1915 is when it all began, a small department with a big heart. What a century it has been. In this video we meet former students and academics and the current Head of Department. We hear about many aspects of the department; from putting on Russian plays and restoring old soviet war posters to studying abroad with the aid of bequests left by former members of staff. One thing which rings out throughout is the strong sense of community which has continued throughout the years and continues to this day. The department and the University are thrilled to be celebrating their centenary.
