First off, I know I didn't announce this on YouTube, but I am currently on vacation in North Carolina. While here, I decided to visit the Wilmington, NC Railroad Museum, which is a former ACL Depot. It really is a nice little place. This museum has a lot of stuff for sure, but if you ask me, the crown jewel of their collection has to be their ACL Baldwin K-14 4-6-0 steam locomotive. It's a really nice engine, and you can even go inside it and ring the bell. I'll say that the American 4-6-0s are pretty light compared to the ones in the UK. We all know Henry from TTTE is a 4-6-0, and he's the biggest engine besides Gordon. Our 4-6-0s are similar in size to Edward, James, Donald, and Douglas. Alongside ACL #250, you can also go inside the RF&P boxcar as well as the ACL caboose. It was quite an experience! It also gives me vibes from when I went inside a caboose in Roanoke (last year), Richmond (2013), and Cumberland (2011 I think), though I don't have any videos of the Richmond or Cumberland caboose tours. In addition to the real life exhibits, the museum also includes a lot of history lessons, really neat model layouts (you can even push buttons to make some cool things happen, and this layout happens to be among the Top 10 in America), and even a showing of the old movie "The General", which was an expensive movie to make. They also had a children's area, which wasn't so much for people my age other than that the model layout had some actual trains. It also had a TV screen showing some Thomas episodes, but unfortunately they were from the damn Miller era rather than the classic series. I did get a glimpse of them showing "Henry and the Wishing Tree" (which was a god awful episode in my opinion) and "Squeak, Rattle, and Roll" (which actually wasn't so bad). All in all, it's a really great museum. I say it makes up for the lack of busy rail activity in the city itself. Hope you enjoy! :)
