County governments have been urged to widen agricultural extension service networks with a view to boost the sector’s contribution to the development of the devolved units.The Kenya Livestock Producers Association has decried high farmers-to-extension services personnel ratio, terming it as an impediment to unlocking the sector’s potential. The National Policy on Agricultural Extension Services seeks to enhance decentralisation of service provision through grassroot institutions in line with the devolved structure of government.
