This is the story of how I got to where I am (BuzzFeed currently). It wasn't overnight. Just look at how my videos have fluctuated in topics and quality. It look me my entire time in college to decide to go against my pre-chosen path of being a programmer and actually take my destiny into my own hands. It took me that much time to fight against all the messages I got from TV and film that Asians have no place in entertainment, and cling to the hope that I got from watching Asian creative people on YouTube. It took me a long time to get an idea about who I actually am and what I wanted to do to achieve fulfillment and happiness. And it all started with just doing something that I wanted to do for myself. Even though my family thought it was stupid. At some point, not even your parents have a claim to your destiny.
