This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Jodi illustrates the magic that can happen when we stop fearing rejection and start seeking it out. She argues that the world needs you to care enough about your idea to push past the fear of hearing "No." Jodi Sagorin is a future physician and initiator of mini non- profit projects around the world. She started her journey turning down NYU in favor of working in rural Uttar Pradesh, India. Most recently, she led a campaign to raise full ride nursing school scholarships for 5 young Haitian students. When Jodi is not working or studying, she loves jumping out of planes as a certified skydiver, surfing, teaching yoga, and playing fetch with her scrappy one-eyed rescue puppy. Above all, Jodi is passionately curious. She is supremely interested in social good, patient care, medical/STEM education, and bringing delight to every new project. About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
