Danilo Perez talks about his Grammy-nominated CD 'Providencia' which was released on the Mack Avenue label.

"Providencia is Pérez' most compelling effort since 2000's Motherland. The man's ears are simply
formidable and this is some of the best evidence yet." -- All About Jazz

"...an album so tightly composed that it begs for attention. If you care to let it, Providencia is the type of work from mid-career jazz pianist and composer that will floor you. Danilo Perez has crafted a legitimate contender for one of the most impressive records of the year." -- Sputnik Music

"On Providencia, Danilo Perez offers what is arguably his most adventurous, satisfying outing to date, and one that foretells projects to unify the diverse elements of modern music and, in Perez's words, "prepare for the unknown."" -- Jazz Police

"Danilo is open to whatever comes, in that zero-gravity kind of way. When we become weightless, he doesn't start looking for things to hold on to." -- Wayne Shorter
"When the dust settles, the pianist Danilo Pérez will be looking like one of the best things that happened to jazz." --Ben Ratliff, New York Times
