Counter-Conditioning A Rat To Run Towards A Loud Noise

Cream has always been a pretty timid girl, but I've worked with her to the point that she's pretty descensitized to sudden movements, touch, handling, and many noises. But recently I was moving around parts of my rat play pen and I realized that Cream was flinching and bolting whenever I moved a certain piece filled with Yesterday's News. Since I obviously don't want her to fear this noise, I decided to counter-condition a different response. And since there aren't any examples of rats being counter-conditioned this way, I thought this would be a perfect time to show just how fast you can counter-condition an animal to enjoy and even approach something they previously feared/disliked. All in all, I spent maybe 4 minutes building up the sound. And Cream learned to enjoy the sound so much that she even began to come whenever I shook the object!
