केरल में बारिश थोड़ी थमी है जो बड़ी राहत की बात है. मौसम विभाग ने कहा है कि अगले पांच दिनों तक भारी बारिश होने के आसार नहीं हैं. यानी पानी उतरेगा तो राहत और बचाव के काम में तेज़ी आएगी. बारिश की आशंका न होने के चलते सारे ज़िलों से रेड अलर्ट हटा लिया गया है. साढ़े तीन सौ लोगों की जान चली गई. लाखों लोग बेघर हो गए. राज्य को बीस हज़ार करोड़ का नुकसान हुआ है, लेकिन भले ही बाढ़ का पानी कम होने लगा हो लेकिन बाढ़ की वजह से केरल की चुनौतियां कम नहीं हुई हैं. पानी उतरने के साथ ही राहत कैंपों में बीमारियों के फैलने का ख़तरा बढ़ गया है.
