Far-right former army captain Jair Bolsonaro, who expresses nostalgia for Brazil's military dictatorship, is leading the country's presidential race. With 92.5 per cent of the ballots counted, he was leading polls with 47 percent of the votes. He is trailed by Fernando Haddad, the leftist stand-in for jailed ex-President Luiz Inacio da Silva, who was barred from running. Haddad has 28 percent of the vote. If Bolsonaro - who was stabbed during the election - manages more than 50 percent, he will win the presidency outright. If he doesn't, he heads to a runoff with the second-place candidate on October 28. Pictured top right, Bolsonaro's supporters on the streets of Rio de Janeiro on Sunday night and bottom right, left-wing supporters react during the vote count at a bar in Sao Salvador Square in the South Zone of Rio de Janeiro.
