“El Sistema” is a successful teaching program aiming to musical excellence in Venezuela. Since it was founded by José Antonio Abreu in 1975, it has contributed to the education of 3 million Venezuelans, and 1 million is currently rehearsing all over the country. The most renamed Venezuelan orchestra, the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela, has extensively toured around Europe, Japan, the USA and several South American countries where they have performed Tchaikovsky, Beethoven and Venezuelan musicians such as Teresa Carreño.
