Kenya's Matatu banned from entering Nairobi city

Thousands of Nairobi's public taxi commuters walked to work on Monday as the county's government sought to de-congest the city by banning the vehicles popularly known as matatus from entering the central business district. At least 80 percent of Nairobi city residents uses matatus for their daily commute. The World Bank estimates that traffic jams cost Nairobi up to 500, 000 US Dollars a day.
