It is every biologist and camera trappers dream to catch more than just animals walking by a camera, we like catch a glimpse into the behaviors of these animals. I was very excited to see our cameras caught this excellent looking bobcat walking past with an invasive red fox squirrel as a meal. In this particular area there are both red fox and native gray squirrels so the fact he caught a red sq. is awesome! The Griffth Park population of gray squirrel is somewhat strong, but their numbers are not great. With bobcats, coyotes and even owls as predators they have a lot to keep an eye out for. This makes me wonder if the gray is more aware of bobcat predation due to their eons of history together. www.griffithparktrailcam.com
