Who is not eligible to apply for the NSNP as a Skilled Worker?

Certain categories of immigrants are ineligible to apply for the Nova Scotia Nominee Program as Skilled Workers: parents, spouses and common law partners of Canadian citizens and permanent residents should apply instead under the Federal Family Class; persons living in Canada who are refugee claimants, failed refugee claimants, or applicants under humanitarian and compassionate grounds; persons who are in Canada illegally, who are under a removal order in Canada, and who are prohibited from entering Canada; international students in Canadian post-secondary programs; persons whose spouses or common-law partners are international students in a Canadian post-secondary institution and are not in their final year; persons with unresolved custody or child support disputes; seasonal, casual or part-time workers; persons who have been offered sales positions based solely on commission for compensation; labourers in construction, agriculture and primary resources sectors; persons who are child minding, who provide elder care services, or who are live in caregivers should instead apply under the Federal Live In Caregivers class; persons who were offered jobs that are not based in Nova Scotia; and passive investors who intend to invest in the province and not participate in the day-to-day managing of the business.
