Throwing a wrench into my plans

So I'm waiting for the train to Grand Central, when all of a sudden, a live announcement is made over the loud speakers saying that there was police activity at Scarsdale, and that the southbound train was being held in Hartsdale, while the northbound was being held in Crestwood. Well, this just totally throws a monkey wrench into the plans I had for the evening, which was going to be meeting some friends at a bar downtown to have some celebratory drinks. The whole cause for worry was a "bomb threat" at Scarsdale, which required the need for a bomb sniffing dog. The result was the arrest of three black men who tried evading the scene. Thanks to those three men for delaying the start to my evening. Regardless, I got to the city, just about an hour later than I was planning on getting there.
