Using AutoText with Hyperlinks to Save Time When Grading Essays

http://cte.uwaterloo.ca In this nine-minute video, I explain how instructors can use a feature in Microsoft Word (known as AutoCorrect or AutoText) to save time when grading essays. Essentially, AutoText allows you to type into a student's essay a shortcut (such as "CS"), which is automatically replaced by a longer comment (such as, "This is a Comma Splice: you are trying to join two independent clauses with just a comma"). By adding a hyperlink into the autoCorrect comment, you can provide the student with even more powerful feedback, such as "This is a Comma Splice: you are trying to join two independent clauses with just a comma.
