Johnny Rivers was born John Henry Ramistella in New York but raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where southern music influenced him. He has notched up dozens of hits over the years in the American charts. In 1965 alone he placed five songs on the US Billboard Hot 100. "Seventh Son" was easily the most successful, peaking at #7.
