ISRO LAUNCHES GSAT-7A, STRENGTHENS DEFENSE_Prudent Media Goa

The Indian Space Research Organization (Isro) has successfully placed Gsat-7A in orbit. It is the second communication satellite which is meant primarily for military operation. The satellite was launched at Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota. Gsat-7A is expected to boost the IAF’s network-centric warfare capabilities. It is also expected to interlink all ground-based radars, airbases and airborne early warning and control aircraft for surveillance, maintain air superiority, gather intelligence by detecting aircraft, vessels and other vehicles in long range.
