As Millenniumforce was visiting Ashland today as part of Tour 9, I came up here today to meet him again. Other users came along such as Virginia Railfan Productions and Jaw Tooth. We all had a great time railfanning and conversing. It was also nice how some of the engineers gave us some horn in the quiet zone. Enjoy!

Train #3 (3:36): A northbound freight train (perhaps Q416, my scanner didn't get it), rolls by with a YN2 GP38-2 (this happens to be the one I caught leading and idling back in April) and an Acca Yard RC switcher trailing.

(8:41) We then get a brief clip after of Alan, Sara, Charlotte, Lacey, and Brian.

Trains #4 and 5 (8:59): Now this was cool! Amtrak P095 arrives and departs Ashland. Also before Alan and his crew arrived, I was approached by a man named Joe Topham (same spelling as Sir Topham Hatt, lol), who works for the town and was riding P095 to Main Street Station. He asked me to get a good shot of him getting on the train and email it to him. So I'll do that when I'm done editing this video. So as P095 was preparing to depart, CSX Q031 goes by with no juice reefers. This time they forgot the juice for real. I also pulled an Alan at the end.

(15:09) Then I get to ride in Millenniumforce's car as we relocate. I also got to ride in Alan's old car when I met him last year. Today I rode shotgun, Lacey and Charlotte rode in the back seat, and of course Alan was driving.

Train #9 (23:07): An unidentified northbound coal train goes by our cameras. This was the first freight in a bit of a while.

Train #10 (26:33): As the sun began to set, Alan and the girls were ready to call it a day and go to the hotel (they're heading to Lancaster, PA tomorrow morning), but Amtrak Northeast Regional #66 showed up.

Train #11 (29:43): Everyone else had gone home, but Brian and I stayed after for a while and talked. Amtrak P093 arrives and departs Ashland with a mostly empty train. I can imagine how fun it would be if Lily and I rode that train home from Ashland, though it would be more cost-effective to just drive home since it's not really that far.

Train #12 (32:57): To wrap up this action packed afternoon, CSX Q410 goes by the town on its way north. It's too bad Alan left before this train came through, because Q410 now takes the empty Tropicana reefers back north. After Q410 vanished into the night, I packed up my gear and drove back to Richmond.
