PM Urged To Appoint Climate Change Committee

President of the San Juan Business Association, Vivek Charran, is calling on Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley to appoint a Committee with the sole purpose of tackling climate change on a national level. The SJBA says it would also like to see the implementation of a "think tank" made up of qualified personnel including environmental engineers, climate specialists and other valuable persons to develop, maintain and enforce an environmentally focussed regime. The Business Association says the October flooding can be a benchmark in how we approach disaster preparedness, how we tackle community and urban development, and can serve as a blueprint as to how Trinidad and Tobago addresses river dredging, deforestation and climate change. The San Juan Business Association says it is important we tackle and defeat the climate change challenge, or our beloved twin island Republic will continue to face further peril.
