I did the story board and editing for this commercial. I was not to happy with the shots because my crew members shot it completely different then the way it was written out. instead of spending 20 minutes on it like I had originally planned it took me 7 hours of straight work throughout the night. I even had to deal with no sound because of audio problems in post. (I did not capture the footage) Needless to say I was not too happy with the way this came out. For a class project standards, this is A work.... But for me, this is an example of impatiences, waist of pre-production, and an unsuccessful product. On the other hand, I am not completely downing the crew because the shots were not completely horrible..But I could not use all of them to there full potential in the least. there were even better shots taken that could not be used because of continuity issues. The lighting could have been better in my opinion but it was not bad for the lack of space and concerned bar manager in the way of things (at least that is what I was told). As an editor this shows that I can still produce something with no time and poor footage but as a producer I feel like I have failed because I was not strict enough on the crew about sticking to the plan. Instead I was in Ohio during the shooting. Well, it was a learning experience so next time I will be a little less trust worthy..
