Trump bestows Medal of Honor on former Army medic

(1 Oct 2018) US President Donald Trump presented the Congressional Medal of Honor Monday to a former Army Special Forces medic who served in Afghanistan. Staff Sgt. Ronald Shurer II, has already received a Silver Star for fighting through an enemy ambush and saving the lives of members of his team in Shok Valley in April 2008. The award is being upgraded after a review ordered in 2016. Shurer was honorably discharged in May 2009 and went on to serve with the Secret Service.
