Part 22.In the conclusion of Metroid Prime, Samus encounters the source
of the Phazon known as Metroid Prime in a 2-part boss battle which
ended in Metroid Prime absorbing the Phazon in her suit transforming it
into a dark doppleganger of her known as Dark Samus who would play a
prominent role in the upcoming Metroid Prime games known as Echoes and
Corruption. As for the endings, it isn't about how fast you did it but
how much you collected and if you get 100%, you get the true ending in
which Metroid Prime survives and you see her helmetless in an extra
cutscene.
