This shows a little homemade electric motor called a 'Newman Motor' mounted on a craft stick (tongue depressor).  TinselKoala came up with the great idea of using these very inexpensive sticks to mount small electronic projects on.   Electrostatic oscillators, little motors,  and small led circuits like the Joule Theif could all be mounted on this easy to find stick.
