Dr. Daniel Saltzman, parent of Sami '16, is a internationally recognized Pediatric Surgeon and Cancer Researcher. A native of the Panama Canal Zone where his father worked on the Panama Canal and his mother ran a small business in Panama City, Dr. Saltzman obtained his B.S., M.D., and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Minnesota. In addition to an active clinical practice at UMN's Amplatz Children's Hospital, the Saltzman Research Lab is considered a world leader in the use of bacteria to deliver immunomodulatory cytokines directly to cancers, without the toxicity of chemotherapy. His TEDx talk, "Project Stealth," will discuss the progress and the promise of this up-and-coming cancer treatment.
