A wonderful stop on NC 215 at the Living Waters Ministry for a short hike to Mill Shoals and Bird Rock Falls on the North Fork French Broad River. Mill Shoals, also known as French Broad Falls, is a twin waterfall with a shelf drop on the left (North Fork French Broad River), and a cascade on the right below the red house (Shoal Creek). After that a trail follows the river downstream, passing by two more small waterfalls in succession before ending at the highlight, Bird Rock Falls. A massive cliff rises above the 15-foot waterfall, this is a fun area to explore. Hike was 0.9 miles in 40 minutes.
