++ Watch in HD and turn up the sound! ++ A smooth, beautiful flight aboard "Nine O Nine", the Collings Foundation's B-17G. We departed Pensacola airport (KPNS) and flew up and down Pensacola Beach lit by a beautiful sun set.

This was a true "Knock this off the bucket list" experience for me, someone who's grown up reading and studying World War II history. The video is only sound and image. It can't recreate the sensory overload that really gives you an appreciation for what those guys did seventy-plus years ago.

The Collings crew, staff and their sponsors do a great thing keeping these machines in the air. Check out all that they do at and book your own flight here: http://www.CollingsFoundation.org.

---Technical Stuff---
I shot and edited together the following footage for this video:
(a) Video inside the aircraft of the flight itself on March 2nd.
(b) Video from its departure from Pensacola on March 3rd. Sorry for the shaky-cam, the wind was gusting at 20+ knots and my hands were freezing!
(c) Photographic stills from the B-17's arrival on Friday February 28th.

---Gear---
Canon T2i DSLR: Exterior video and stills. I only used it for a few interior shots while still taxiing on the ground (my memory card crapped out just before we took off... perfect timing)
Samsung Galaxy S3 phone: All airborne video.
Audio Capture: Zoom H4N
