Peugeot unveiled the HX1 plug-in hybrid concept which the French automaker hopes marks the future of MPV/ crossover vehicles. The HX1 is a low-slung MPV/ crossover that seats 6 and measures 4.954m long, 1.990m wide, and with a height of just 1.373m. Using Peugeot's HYbrid4 technology, the HX1 is an all-wheel drive diesel-electric with a 2.2lt HDi unit with 204Ps powering the front-axle while a 70kW (95Ps) electric motor drives the rear wheels. Combined output is 299Ps. The plug-in HX1 can travel up to 30km in all-electric mode and features a fuel-economy rating of 3.2lt/100km with CO2 emissions of 83g/km. The HX1 comes with embedded rear spoiler and side skirts on the tailgate which deploy at speeds over 100km/h and the car's design also gives it a Cd quotient of 0.28 - making it a pretty aerodynamically advanced vehicle for a 6-seater.
