“The Tea Spell,” one of the specially invited plays at this year’s Wuzhen Theatre Festival, is seen as the epitome of Chinese elements mixed with avant-garde art. The wordless modern dance draws on Zen and tea culture, and even uses Tang Dynasty tea artifacts to portray a loosely woven story. Director Zhao Liang has been exploring Chinese culture through art and dance for years. CGTN’s Zhang Nini is interviewing the director and two dancers on traditional Chinese culture and theater, as well as the show itself.
