Come into your own reality by repeating messages two different ways. The goal is to use schema to interpret new information, and use the 'right' words before the message is sent to 'storage.' Do your students ask too many questions or have you made your classroom a safe place for curiosity? This process, called a Twice Told Tale, can be silly or serious, but the method is a valuable asset to all those who want ownership of our own stories. This is how I achieved a balance between negative thinking and thinking from my 'right mind.' Autumn likes: the sound of someone else doing the dishes, having a name that is in the dictionary yet is frequently misspelled, audacious lies, the color chartreuse, memories of the days it was okay to have big hair.

Autumn dislikes: non-cartoon bugs, fake hugs, wine snobbery, bank robbery, boring hats, mega bats, and things that rhyme. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
