Sorry for the poor camera angle and I don't know what caused the fuzziness. This was originally a video response to this video... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zmAYpAzNB34&feature=related When I watch Peter's comment on scoring celebrations, I was gratified to learn that such a wise person sort of saw it the same way. I am just barely interested in football anymore and there are a lot of reasons, but things have gotten so out of control with "celebrating", gesticulating, and just the ME-ME-ME attitude that it represents... that I threw my tv out about three years ago. Nonsense in the endzone has been going on for a long time, but it seems to have collided with a greater cultural selfcenteredness lately that just... I don't know... it's just too much for me. Football is first and foremost... a TEAM sport. When I hear the proplayerwhoshallremainunnammed call himself a "playmaker"... it really bums me out. You may be a splendid athelete, but the play is made by the whole team. The gesticulating and dancing that goes on after a big offensive or defensive play... is the antithesis of that. Coach Mangino's reaction to this kids selfcenteredness is AWESOME!!! When I saw the headline and clicked on it... I actually thought he might really have exploded. I feel like I am increasing my chance of a heart attack just watching him. When I found out what the video was about... I couldn't respect him more and thought it gave a little insight into how he has been able to turn KU around. Missouri fans (me) typically HATE Jayhawks, but as long as he is the coach... and actually doesn't physically explode... I am going to kinda be rooting for them. The "act like you've been in the endzone before" remark has been attributed to Bear Bryant, but I also remember watching an Alabama game when Gene Stallings was the coach and pulled a kid aside after some endzone nonsense.
