The Indian Ocean tsunami left more than 150 Sri Lankan schools either serverely damaged or destroyed. UNICEF is working to help the government get children back to learning as quickly as possible, whether in temporary classrooms or rebuilt schools. In addition, UNICEF is supplying schools around the country with emergency School-in-a-Box kits that contain exercise books, assorted supplies, chalk and teaching aids.
