I would love to see this spot when the river is in flood, it would be a sight to behold. when we went it was drizzling in the morning, but it was fine when we walked down the hill to this amazing billabong, it was one of the most peacefull places I have been to for some time, I got a real charge of good positive energy out of this place. we improvised some fishing poles from fallen branches of some gum trees, attached a bit of fishing line and tried our luck but we had no bites, we were using lures, no bites at all. we decided next time we visit we will bring a yabbie trap and have a got at them, there should be yabbies in this billabond for sure, we look forward to bagging a few for a good feed while we are there. we run into a local bloke walking his dog and he advised us to keep an eye out for snakes, it is the time for snakes to be a lot more active as it is warming up for summer. lots of brown and tiger snakes around, so you need to be careful not to wander off the path as they are not easy to spot and you don't want to step on one of them as it would definitely end in tears. best keep to the cleared path and avoid trouble.
