TULARE COUNTY, California - Tulare County Sheriff's deputies are investigating what teachers thought was a possibly "credible" threat at a Visalia school, a news release says. A 13-year-old boy and 14-year-old boy at Elbow Elementary School, located on Road 160, were overheard talking about a "Columbine style" attack, where they would "kill a lot of people," deputies say. School staff believed the threat could be credible and called law enforcement immediately. The students admitted to having the conversation, but said they were joking. Deputies contacted the parents and will be searching their homes. Both students are in custody and deputies say the students will face charges of making terrorist or criminal threats. The sheriff's office asks that parents have a conversation regarding the incident with their children. "We want everyone to feel safe in our schools," the news release says.
