This particular aircraft never saw any combat in World War II, it was originally sold for scrap. Later in 1947 it was sold to Pratt & Whitney for $2,700 where it served as a test bed for 20 years. Here it is seen on it's first flight of the day, taken on 3/13/2010. Sadly this aircraft crashed on 6/13/2011 in Aurora, Illinois. An engine caught fire and as the crew was getting ready to attempt an emergency landing she went down in a field before making it to the airport. Luckily all seven on board survived. SN 44-85734
