Here the HUD Version of UP 844 fights her way up a long 1.2% to 1.6 % grade up towards Cajon Pass Summit from Victorville unassisted with a 25 car passenger train weighing in at just shy under 1600 tons. I'm quite impressed with the climbing performance. I almost stalled not quite far from the summit, and if there had been an additional 1000 feet or so of climb, I might have. But luckily, 844 makes it to level track just before falling below 10 MPH.
