With Karim's last cutscene there now seen without terrible skipping, we find the next page of the tome, and it seems the Roivas family is more connected to this than we may have originally thought. It seems Alex's ancestor, Maximilian Roivas has had his own dealings with the eternal darkness. It's kind of interesting, having a stage that takes place in the past of what has become our cozy little hub world.
