Tom Clarke Channel 4 News reports on 2012's Sunday TImes Rich List. 
But what about all the stratospherically wealthy city bankers and Bilderbergers that do not appear on the list. Is it because they keep most of their wealth in offshore tax havens? Perhaps. The revoltingly rich of The City of London though hardly even appear. Just take a look at the Rothschild family of whom Sir Evelyn De Rothschild, Nathaniel Rothschild and Jacob Rothschild are just a few. They don't appear anywhere becauyse they are mates with the rich list publisher, Rupert Murdoch. 
The rich list ends up being just an elaborate illusion which is not properly checked by any of the news outlets that spread it around. Take our Queen for example, her wealth is far far greater than she ever declares 'cos she owns the ultimate freehold of every single acre in Britain. see Kevin Cahill's book 'Who Owns The World' for more detail on that side of it.
As we know through income tax the more you earn the less tax you pay and the same is true for the rich list. The more wealth you have the easier it is to bribe someone to help you keep that wealth hidden through shell companies etc.
Having said all that a nice report here from Channel Four News. 
But the Rich List sucks as does its miserable publisher.

Where is all the money going? I just divided 414 UK billion by the population of Britain - say a generous 65 million. The result was over 6 million pounds for every person living in this country - all owned by just a thousand people. 
The Queen is the 32nd richest woman and 262nd overall with a personal wealth of £310million. Topping the overall rankings, with an estimated £12.7billion, is steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal, 61, whose family have led the list since 2005.
Despite his fortune falling by 27 per cent in the past year, he just stays ahead of Uzbek metals magnate and Arsenal shareholder Alisher Usmanov on £12.3billion.
