Murphy and Caymus went for their routine vet appointment today. The clinic is doing a drug trial for a German company. The drug is Telmisartan. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telmisartan

It's for kitties that have kidney disease and hypertension. The veterinary clinical trial may lead to a new treatment for feline high blood pressure - hypertension in cats.

To qualify, cat must: be at least 1 year old, be diagnosed with kidney disease, test positive for hypertension at the preliminary evaluation, not already have severe signs of hypertension, be well enough to participate for up to 6 months, not have any other sever uncontrolled diseases, meet other study criteria.

Murphy's blood pressure taken 6 times, ranged from 100-120, which is normal.

Murphy did not qualify. YAY! .
