Fiat has unveiled the 500C at the New York Auto Show. Based on the US-spec 500 Coupe, the convertible features a roof-mounted spoiler and a power-retractable soft top that can be lowered at speeds up to 60 mph (97 km/h). Inside, the cabin is highly customizable and comes nicely equipped with air conditioning, power windows/locks, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and Bluetooth/USB connectivity. Sadly, the boot only holds 5.4 cubic feet (153 liters) of luggage but that can be expanded to 23.4 cubic feet (663 liters) when the rear seats are folded down. Under the hood, power is provided by a 1.4-liter MultiAir engine that produces 101 hp (75 kW / 102 PS) and 98 lb-ft (133 Nm) of torque. It can be paired to a five-speed manual or an optional six-speed automatic transmission. The 2012 Fiat 500C will go on sale in the United States later this spring with a base price of $19,500.
