Aquaponic Roots & Algae as Free Fish Treats

Who knew that roots and algae could be a free fish treat?!? I was cleaning my raft bed in the aquaponics system when some algae slipped into the fish tank. The fish thought it was the greatest fish treat ever and made the whole island of algae disappear in no time. I tried to recreate that for this video but these roots were a bit too fresh with not enough good algae growth. I have since learned that they seem to prefer old dried roots, I guess they break up easier ... I have a few ideas about growing algae in a harvestable fashion that I may try out next spring when things warm back up. If I do, I'll be sure to post them for you viewing and feedback!
