In order to prevent tragedies like the following, Louisiana's Safe Haven Law allows a parent to leave a baby up to 31 days old in the care of an employee at designated places such as a police or fire department or emergency room without the threat of prosecution. Investigators with the Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office are seeking the public's assistance with a 15 year old cold case death of a newborn infant.
