In English, these words are called "quantifiers", or words that show "how much" of something you have (all, some of, none, etc.). "dōu (都)" means "all" or "both" when we add: "bù (不)", which represents "no" or "negative", we get: "bù dōu (不都)", which means "not all of", or "some". If we switch the characters around to: "dōu bù (都不)" it changes the meaning to "none of".
