When a freight train reaches the end of the line, out clambers a nameless, grizzled old hobo (Rutger Hauer) intent on building a new life for himself. Unfortunately, he's pitched up in Hope Town -- or 'Scum Town' as the local graffiti artists would have it. It's the most horrible, corrupt, violent urban hell you could imagine, where paedophiles dress as Santa Claus and the homeless are exploited in 'bumfight' videos. The town is ruled by The Drake (Brian Downey) with his sadistic sons Ivan (Nick Bateman) and Slick (Gregory Smith), who think nothing of taking a flamethrower to a school bus to instil fear in the population. All the hobo wants to do is buy a lawnmower to make the place a little more beautiful, but he soon falls foul of The Drake, with devastating consequences. Like last year's Machete, this was expanded from a fake trailer in Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez's Grindhouse double bill.
