Regarded as one of the "definitive do-wop songs", "Earth Angel" was originally recorded by US group The Penguins. But (as was common practice at the time) other groups quickly covered it. In 1955 this version by Canada's The Crew Cuts made it all the way to the top of the US charts (out-performing The Penguins) and even made it to #4 here in the UK (The Peguins didn't make our charts at all).
