Requirements  Spawns for a 20% chance as a treasure chest.

Ithuno has a 20% chance of spawning for every entry into the area. When you enter Special Op Sector 5, Ithuno will be in a treasure chest near the end of the area, behind a big rock on the train tracks (also near one of the Surianders and after the Adamantitan). If a chest appears there, you will know it is Ithuno if the bottom section of it is purple. 

Hint: It seems to be easier to find Ithuno more often when zoning away over 2 areas (for example: to Special Op Sector 3 and back). After Ithuno is killed, this seems necessary for it to reappear. 

Note: At the same point in the game that the player can encounter Ithuno, the Zodiac Spear is available in the Necrohol of Nabudis if you did not open certain chests earlier in the game.
