Sarah Anne liked train rides, but not this one, not today.  On the other end of this journey was an aunt waiting for her arrival.  An aunt who "didn't want to raise someone else's brat".
Sarah groaned inwardly dreading that meeting.  She'd never felt so sick, sad and apprehensive all at once.
Dolls were not something Sarah played with anymore, after all she was 16, almost grown. 
Nevertheless, she glanced down at the shiny faced, porcelain doll peeking from the cloth traveling bag that sat on the seat with her.
It was a gift from her mother right before she fell ill.
The conductor announced the next stop, Philadelphia.
The butterflies in her stomach turned to dragons and she couldn't help the tears welling in her eyes.
