In comparison to other countries, America has dropped from 16th to 32nd in mathematics in the last decade. Learn about why this happened, and find out how we can get us back to the top. Ethan Brown is a fourteen-year-old Mathemagician, and has been performing mental math stage shows across the country for the last three years. Ethan tries to show people how math can be practical and fun, and doesn't just have to be what is taught to them in class. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
