Students at the University of Missouri-Kansas City campus are on alert after a thief stole a laptop in public.

The victim was between classes and was studying in a public area of Haag Hall. The victim told police that she saw a man talking on a cell phone walk by her. She said the man looked like any other student, except he walked by her twice.
