Mario Kart 64 Versus mode has some hard-coded game tempo modifiers built in to help the game appear to run at the same speed on the original N64 hardware. On more capable hardware, such as an emulator, this results in the game playing back way faster than intended. This past year we have been able to fix this. This video is a demonstration of the fix on Donkey Kong Jungle Parkway in 4-player. Normally this would play back at double the intended speed and half the temporal resolution of 1-player modes. The configuration used is as follows:
