Maribor returns with a third release on his self-eponymous imprint, where warped bells and desk voltage dips collide – Artist Bio: Between the developing tension and dancing percussion that respectively builds and rolls - both through Alex James’ production and SETTINGS: mix series to date - lies an obvious homage to upfront, yet underground UK club music... Experimental, yet functional; Maribor’s music strives for a balance between something new and something tried and tested. James grew up on 00’s London pirate radio and the sounds of the UK hardcore continuum. From House, Garage and Techno through to Grime, Funky and Dubstep. These diverse sounds across the FM spectrum have played a key role in influencing James’ sound. The beginning of 2018 saw the release of his debut LP: 25-54. Named after the block James grew up living in on the Maribor estate in Greenwich, South East London. “I remember evenings, where I’d just sit in my bedroom with views of Canary Wharf, I was about 11/12 years old, picking up stations across the Thames from East London and just thinking this music is fucking amazing. It gradually developed into an obsession. This is my earliest memory of the music I’m into, so naming my first album after it just felt right... It’s also the start of something different for me, I started my own label in 2012 - focussing mainly on great music made by my friends. I’ve released music on other labels in the past, including under different aliases. Now I just want to focus on Maribor music and release it when I want, how I want”. Release Tracklist: 1. Zero Fade 2. Power Sag ...
